I always wanted to accessorize my hair with hairpins, tiaras, crowns, etc. I have thick, curly hair, and this hairpin is too cute! Love it. This is intended as a showcase piece- just to show off some of my jewelry portfolio. I also loved the challenge in making this piece, working with bigger pieces and thicker wires. Materials Used: Copper sheet and wire.
Metalsmithing: I cut a butterfly shape out of a copper sheet, textured and stamped it, and soldered the hairpin wire. It has been filed, cleaned, and polished.
Dimensions: The hairpin is 1.6″ inch wide and 4.3” inch tall.
